Overexertion in the Workplace

With June being National Safety Month, it is important to recognize safety precautions within the workplace. Make sure to take frequent breaks by going on short walks, using good posture, resting your eyes, and performing ergo stretches.

Take time for your health this month and every month. Here are a few tips to keep your body happy:

  • Position items accessed frequently throughout the day within a primary reach zone to avoid reaching and stress to shoulders and back.  
  • Avoid static postures - take a break from the computer and stretch your back, arms and hands every 30 minutes.
  • Don't sit, stand or work in a static position for more than 30 minutes
  • Take micro-breaks throughout the day - for the body and for the eyes
