Your feet should comfortably touch the floor when seated.  If your feet are not firmly on the floor, then a footrest will help provide needed support and minimize pressure to the back of your legs.  Determine what height you need by resting your feet on some books or a ream of copy machine paper then order one of our adjustable footrests that meets your need.  Generally, the footrest should not raise your knees above your hips.
